The industrial assembly of a production line is a task consisting of various activities. It requires certain skills from fitters and welders. We know from experience that the range of activities can vary somewhat in different factories. Before we decide to accept an order in Germany or Poland, we need to be sure that the work involves the right tasks for our industrial fitters and welders. We always try to enquire about the scope of the planned work:
tasks for locksmiths/pipe fitters:
- Preparation and planning:
- Analysing assembly drawings and schedules to understand the sequence and arrangement of components.
- Ensuring that all necessary materials, tools and equipment are available.
- Assembling the frames and structures:
- Assembling the frame elements that form the basis of the production line.
- Using screws, bolts and other fasteners to connect the structures.
- Installation of conveyor belts and transport equipment:
- Positioning and fastening conveyor belts, rollers and other transport elements.
- Adjusting conveyor belt speeds and alignment.
- Assembly of machines and devices:
- Attachment of machinery and equipment to prepared structures.
- Alignment and safe connection to power sources or compressed air supply.
- Adjustments and fine tuning:
- Fine-tuning machine parameters to ensure they are working properly.
- Checking alignment, tolerances and functionality.
tasks for welders:
- Preparation of welding tools and equipment:
- Checking and providing the required welding equipment (e.g. MIG/MAG, TIG, electrode welding) and protective equipment.
- Preparation of the weld seams:
- Preparation of the surfaces to be welded by cleaning, degreasing and chamfering the edges.
- Carrying out the welding process:
- Carrying out the welding work in accordance with the specifications and assembly drawings.
- Observing welding parameters such as amperage, voltage and welding speed.
- Quality control and inspection:
- Visually inspecting welds for irregularities, voids and other defects.
- If necessary, non-destructive testing (e.g. X-ray, ultrasound) for safety-related checks.
- Weld seam reworking (if necessary):
- Removal of slag, spatter and other contaminants.
- Smoothing or reworking of the weld seam.
- Documentation and reporting:
- Documentation of welding work performed and preparation of reports for quality control.
- It is important that fitters and welders work closely together to ensure that the structures and machines are assembled and welded properly. In addition, all safety regulations and standards should be adhered to.
